about our programs
building community, one activity at a time
At Iron Village Preparatory Academy, we believe in creating opportunities for students to thrive academically, culturally and socially. Our programs are designed to meet the needs of students and families while fostering a love for learning, a celebration of diverse cultures and a commitment to community engagement. From our microschool to dynamic workshops and camps, we offer a variety of experiences that empower students to explore, lead and grow.
Summer Camp
At Enrich & Empower Institute’s Summer Program, we invite rising K–8th graders on a transformative journey of self-discovery, cultural appreciation and empowerment. Each week, campers dive into hands-on themes that blend learning with joy—like turning everyday items into art through sustainable creativity, exploring global traditions in our cultural cuisine labs and traveling the world through language, music and movement. Our campers don’t just observe—they engage, create and connect in ways that build confidence and curiosity.
From STEM explorations that spotlight Black, brown and Indigenous innovators to inclusive Book Club discussions and guided journaling, every moment is rooted in affirmation and representation. Campers also practice mindfulness and movement through yoga and breathwork, nurturing emotional wellness and self-awareness. It’s more than just summer fun—it’s a space where kids are seen, celebrated and empowered to lead with curiosity and heart.
Summer programming will resume in 2026.
Pulse & Purpose: Creative Wellness through Music, Media and Movement
Pulse & Purpose, a monthly Saturday workshop series led by longtime mindfulness and music mentor Chris Jeter. This innovative program blends mindfulness, movement and digital arts to help students reflect on their emotions, explore their identities and share their stories through sound, rhythm and media.
The fall 2025 theme, My Sound, My Story, invites students to create an audio self-portrait or digital sound collage that expresses who they are and how they see the world.
Workshops meet once a month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Iron Village Prep. The program is free for IVP students who commit to the full semester (4 sessions). Remaining spots will be offered to non-IVP families through a sliding scale tuition model.
Fall dates: September 6, October 4, November 1, December 6
Unpicky Eaters: Growing Healthy Minds and Meals
Unpicky Eaters is our signature food and wellness program at Iron Village Prep. Each week, students engage in hands-on learning that connects them to the land, their health and each other.
Every month, students experience:
A visit from a local farmer to explore what’s in season
A session with a nutritionist to learn how food fuels the body
A hands-on cooking activity with a chef
A communal meal they prepare and enjoy as a class
Through Unpicky Eaters, students learn to appreciate fresh ingredients, understand where their food comes from and build lifelong skills around health, teamwork and curiosity — one delicious bite at a time.
Unpicky Eaters is included in tuition for full-time students. Part-time and homeschool students can purchase a Friday pass to join the program.
