Iron Village Prep Receives Arts Grant to Grow Pulse & Purpose
Iron Village Preparatory Academy is proud to announce it has received a Virginia Commission for the Arts (VCA) grant to support Pulse & Purpose: Creative Wellness through Music, Media and Movement.
Led by educator and music therapist Chris Jeter, Pulse & Purpose brings students together one Saturday each month to explore mindfulness, rhythm and digital art. The program helps students connect creativity, emotion and culture through hands-on projects that use music as a form of storytelling.
This spring’s theme, “Our World in Sound,” invites students to listen, reflect and create original soundscapes that respond to their community and the world around them. Each session blends mindfulness with music-making — from exploring global rhythms and protest songs to writing affirmations and crafting digital audio stories. The semester will end with a student showcase featuring collaborative sound and video projects inspired by real-life experiences.
