The Bridge for Homeschoolers: Freedom Meets Focus

The community of homeschool. The excellence of a professional faculty.

You’ve spent years building a foundation of curiosity, independence, and family-centered learning. You’ve protected your child’s love of discovery, and now, as they enter the "Bridge Years" (Grades 4–8), you might be looking for a bit more—more social collaboration, more specialized mentorship, and more "City as Campus" adventures.

At Iron Village Prep, we have "Homeschool Bones." We believe you shouldn’t have to choose between a professional school environment and the family rhythm you’ve worked so hard to build.

Your Schedule, Your Way: Flexible Enrollment

We know that every homeschool family is different. Some are ready for a full-time transition, while others want to keep their home-based "Deep Dive" days or existing co-ops in place. To support your unique journey, we offer three enrollment tiers:

  • The Full-Time Village (5 Days): The "All-In" experience. Your student is a daily part of our community, benefiting from a consistent rhythm of academics, Spanish, Wellness, and Friday community exploration.

  • The Hybrid Bridge (4 Days): Perfect for families who want to keep one day a week (typically Fridays) for independent home projects, family travel, or rest.

  • The Collaborative Model (3 Days): The ultimate balance. This tier allows your student to join us for our core academic and social blocks while spending two days a week continuing the home-based learning they love.

Professional Mentorship, Not "Factory" Teaching

In a traditional school, your child is a number. At IVP, they are a Trailblazer. We maintain the intimate, conversational feel of a homeschool co-op but back it with the expertise of a professional faculty.

  • 1:12 Ratio: We keep groups small so your child’s specific learning pace is never ignored.

  • Specialized Expertise: As curiosity outpaces a single curriculum, we provide dedicated leads for Spanish Language, Wellness & Movement, and Emotional Resilience—subjects that can be a challenge to facilitate solo at home.

Individualized Learning: No Ceilings, No Cracks

One of the biggest reasons families homeschool is to allow their child to move at their own pace. We’ve built our entire model around that same principle.

  • Ready to work ahead? Our small ratios mean we never hold a student back. If they are ready for high-school-level math or advanced Spanish, we provide the runway.

  • Need a "Soft Landing"? If your child is sensitive or thrives in a quieter environment, our Emotional Resilience Specialist ensures they feel safe enough to take academic risks. We believe the heart must be secure before the brain can truly explore.

"City as Campus": The Ultimate Field Trip

Homeschoolers are the original "world-as-classroom" learners. We’ve simply professionalized that experience. Through our Pathways Program, we partner with over 10 Richmond organizations to turn the city into a laboratory.

From financial literacy with Junior Achievement to sustainable art with Scrap RVA, your student doesn't just read about career fields—they step into them. These partnerships plant the seed for who they want to be, giving their learning immediate, real-world relevance.

Only 11 Seats Remain for Fall 2026

We are currently inviting homeschool families to tour our space at the St. Luke Legacy Center to discuss which enrollment tier fits your family best.

Whether you’re looking for 3, 4, or 5 days of connection, we’d love to help your student cross the bridge into their next great adventure.
